In Florianopolis, there are a lot of options for accommodations. We wanted a centrally located pousada that gave us access to both the north and south part of the island. Campeche was a good location, because it has its own surf break and is very close to many of the other legendary breaks. This turned out to be a good move, as we were able to go across the island easily, and it was only a 15 minute drive to the airport. Pousada Tamarindo Vila was a great option for our family. We stayed in an apartment that had a kitchen and two bedrooms and a crib was provided for our baby. The apartment was spacious, had ample parking and was quiet and peaceful. Praia Campeche was a short walk away. The yoga studio is gorgeous and yoga classes are complimentary for guests of Vila Tamarindo. The evening yoga sessions were the perfect way to unwind for the day.
The Pousada Tamarindo Vila is an eco resort, which is something that we, as surfers, are very interested in. The grounds are tropical and green. They are lush and filled with hammocks, lounging areas, a beautiful pool and a spa. Chelsea was able to get a massage that was set up through the Pousada. This massage was held in the spa area of the grounds in a quiet room with a bathtub. Clarise Bianchin at the onsite Spa ButiĆ” provided a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere for the hour long massage. One of the highlights was the complimentary breakfast. We have seen some good breakfasts in our travels, but this one EASILY takes the cake. This spread included a dozen pastries, three or four types of juice, eggs, meat, crepes.
