Praia Ferrugem is an incredible place to hang out at the beach and to surf. Brazil has some of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen. Walking distance to the beach is the Pousada Kalua, our recommended hostel to stay at while in the Garopaba area. The staff is some of the kindest people we’ve ever encountered in our travels and they offered babysitting for a very reasonable price. They also offer a laundry service. Our room was spacious, and we had our own loft upstairs while the kids had their own room downstairs. A full breakfast was included every morning and it was delicious. There are a lot of good surf spots within a 15 minute drive from the Pousada, Silveira, Rosa, and also the downtown area with good shops and restaurants.
Praia Ferrugem is a must see beach in our opinion. Coming from Uruguay, the difference in temperature and scenery is incredibly different and noticeably more tropical. The food in Brazil is very good and the culture is very vibrant and relaxed. It is clean and pristine and the weather in March and April was perfect. We loved the overall vibe of this town and Pousada!
